White Wedding Knot {small}

The wedding knot is a fair trade product handmade in Kenya. It is hand carved out of one piece of soapstone, sanded until smooth, and polished. Since this product shows the natural colors of the stone, some color variations should be expected. One can often see shades of cream, gray, pink, and brown in the design.

The two loops of the wedding knot stand for a couple that has become joined through marriage, but remain two individual people. The sculpture is given to a couple on their wedding day with a blessing: May the union last as long as the stone from which the sculpture is carved.
